Goals for professional development are to:
- Establish iCPALMS users, leadership, and partnerships
- develop materials to ensure that users have the knowledge and skills needed to effectively use iCPALMS
- develop and disseminate materials (including at-your-own-pace online professional development programs) to support the community beyond the timeline of the project
- excite users about the project and the long-term vision of the project.
Tiered and Job-Embedded Approach to Professional Development
We expect that users will be motivated to utilize and contribute to iCPALMS because it delivers equitable access to relevant and reliable resources and tools in a customizable homepage. We will use a three-tiered approach to professional development and support for users and their support networks. The tiered approach will be job-embedded and timely to coordinate with the schedule of school and district workflow that occurs throughout the academic year.
- Tier 1, all users - learn about iCPALMS and how to use the portal
- Tier 2, training will develop Tier 1 users into reviewers
- Tier 3, training will develop tier 2 reviewers to demonstrate leadership for iCPALMS
Tiered and Job-Embedded professional development will be provided at the participating districts.
Online Professional Development for All Users
An online professional development program, including tips and tutorials, will provide technical and pedagogical information to support the use of each tool and widget.
